Description
The body is oval, roughly the size of a small tablet, and it sits flat against the glass with a single rotating disc on the front. That disc carries a stretched microfibre cloth held in place by a plastic ring. A cluster of small lights near the top edge, orange, green, red, blue, signals charging state and motor status at a glance. This is the automatic window cleaner built by Eclene under the name Lite, the entry point of the range.
Underneath the disc, a vacuum motor pulls the unit flush to the pane. The suction holds at 5600Pa, enough to keep the 950g body fixed to vertical glass while the two wheels rotate and walk the machine across the surface. A safety rope threads through a small loop at the base and ties off indoors, rated to 150kgf, a physical backup that sits alongside the electronic one.
On a first-floor window or a glazed door, the sequence looks the same each time. The device is placed against the glass, the fan starts, the wheels begin their pass, up, across, down, repeating until the frame edges are detected and the run stops on its own. No spray tank sits inside the housing here, cleaning relies on a dry cloth first, with a manual spray bottle for anything more stubborn.
How This Automatic Window Cleaner Grips and Moves Across Glass
Power comes through a cord at all times, this is not a battery-run device for daily cleaning. A built-in backup system takes over for twenty minutes if the mains supply cuts out, enough time to notice the flashing red light and pull the unit back by its rope. The motor itself is a brushed 72W unit, rated for 100 to 240V, so the same machine works across different regional sockets without a converter.
Three automatic paths are available, up-then-down, left-then-down, right-then-down, selected from the included remote. A manual mode lets the four directional buttons take over completely, useful for edges the automatic pattern misses or for glass that sits inside a narrower frame. A separate table mode adapts the same motor and disc for flat surfaces.
The Lite sits at the base of the Eclene range, wired, without a water tank, built for households that want the suction and the automatic pattern without paying for features they will not use. The Plus and Neo add a built-in spray reservoir and app control for those with larger glass areas to cover. The full range of Eclene window cleaning robots lays out what separates one model from another, and a comparison of Lite, Home, Plus and Neo goes through it model by model.
Remote Control Operation and What Comes in the Box
The remote works from either side of the glass, front or back, which matters on a window without a balcony where standing directly in front of the machine is not always possible. Stop, start, and the three automatic directions are each a single button press, with the four-way pad reserved for manual corrections mid-clean.
Ten cleaning cloths and four rings ship in the box, along with a spray bottle, the AC adapter, a four-metre DC extension cord, and the safety rope itself. Cloths wear down with repeated use, streaking is usually the first sign, and a fresh one restores the result rather than any adjustment to the machine.
It suits standard framed windows, indoors and out, on glass up to six metres high and five metres wide per session. Frameless glass and very humid days are the two conditions the manual rules out, moisture on the pane changes the friction the wheels depend on. Within those limits, the Lite runs the same automatic pattern each time, cord attached, rope secured, until the window is done.

Customer reviews
Worth it
Perfect for our hard-to-reach upstairs windows. Feels safe and it's quiet enough.
Saves me an hour a week
I used to dread window day. Now I stick it on the glass, make a cuppa and come back to a clean window. Genuinely life-changing.
Great on glass, fussy near frames
Excellent on big panes, but it stopped short around our chunky frames and left a thin strip. A quick wipe sorts it.
Everything I hoped for
We have a bay window, three patio doors and a lot of glass. I was sceptical, but this thing is brilliant. It sticks securely, finds the edges and covers the pane methodically. It takes about fifteen minutes a window, and the finish is streak-free. The safety rope and backup battery are reassuring features, and the instructions were clear. Highly recommend.
Great after a dusty week
After weeks of pollen and rain marks, the windows look new. It even handled the corners better than I expected.
Perfect for high windows
Our first-floor windows were a nightmare to reach and I'd been paying someone to do them. This robot pays for itself quickly. I clip the safety rope to a secure point, press start and it works its way across. I love not climbing a ladder, and the result is spotless. Easy to store, too.
Great on the conservatory
Tackled the conservatory glass without any drama. Very impressed.
Does what it says
Good suction and a decent finish. The cable is a touch short for my windows.
Easy with the remote
The remote makes it simple to start, stop and guide it where you want. Set-up took minutes and the instructions were clear.
A godsend for my mum
Mum can't manage a ladder any more. This does her windows safely while she sits and watches. Wish we'd bought one sooner.

Priced for what each model actually does
Every Eclene robot shares the same core mechanism, vacuum suction and a microfibre pad doing the wiping. The price difference across the range tracks real hardware, edge detection, automatic spray, laser sensing, not marketing dressed up as an upgrade.
Thirty days to decide, not just to unbox it
Every Eclene robot comes with a 30-day return window from the French Consumer Code, long enough to actually run it across a few windows before committing. Free UK delivery means trying one costs nothing extra beyond the price of the robot itself, and a UK-based team answers by email within 24 to 48 hours if anything about the setup isn't clear.
Questions about the Eclene Lite
Will the Lite work on my windows?
The Lite is built for standard framed windows, glass up to 6 metres high and 5 metres wide per session. It isn't designed for frameless glass. If that's what you have, the Plus and Neo are built to read that edge instead.
Does it come with everything I need to start?
The box includes the robot, remote control, AC adapter, a 4-metre extension cord, safety rope, spray bottle, and ten cleaning cloths with four rings. Nothing else needs to be bought separately to get started.
Is the Lite noisy to run?
It runs at 65dB, roughly the level of a normal conversation, from a 72W brushed motor.
What happens if I want to switch to a different model later?
The 30-day return window covers exchanges as well as refunds, so if the Lite turns out to be the wrong fit, moving to the Home or Plus is straightforward within that period.
How do I know it's securely attached before I let go?
The robot is switched on and its suction confirmed running before it goes anywhere near the glass, then placed and checked for a firm hold before hands come off. The safety rope, tied off indoors, and a 20-minute battery backup both stay active throughout as a second line of protection.
