Description

The body is a flat white square, 216 by 216mm, 62mm thick, the same footprint as the Pro but finished in white rather than grey. A small laser sensor sits among the corner detection points, a single addition that changes how the robot reads the edge of a pane before committing to a pass. This is the window cleaning robot at the top of the Eclene range, the Max.

Suction holds at 3000Pa through a brushless motor, the same figures as the Pro, and the same dual water spray sits under the housing, one outlet per side, triggering automatically as the robot moves left or right. What sets the edge-reading apart is the laser itself, a more precise measurement than the standard optical sensors used lower in the range, particularly useful on glass with an uneven or worn frame edge, or on the frameless panels the entry models are built to avoid entirely.

On a stairwell window or a large frameless pane, that precision matters at the exact moment the robot approaches an edge. A standard sensor reads a drop in reflected light and estimates the boundary; a laser sensor measures the distance directly, reducing the chance of the robot misjudging a worn or irregular frame and continuing past where the glass actually ends.

Laser Sensor Detection and What It Changes on the Eclene Max

Power still runs through a cord, 5.5 metres, the same wired setup as the rest of the range, backed by a 650mAh cell holding suction for up to 40 minutes if the mains supply drops. Four cleaning modes carry over from the Pro, N-path, Z-path, a combined N-then-Z pass, and fixed-point cleaning for one patch at a time. App control through Tuya mirrors the remote, mode switching, spray control, voice-guided status updates in English or Russian.

The Max sits at the top of the Eclene range, the laser sensor its one real departure from the Pro rather than a change in suction or motor. The full Eclene range lays out how the Max compares to the Air, Home and Pro, and the side-by-side model comparison lines up suction, spray and detection method for each.

Dual Water Spray and Smart Memory Carried Over from the Range

Spray behaves the same way as on the Pro, automatic during the Z-mode pass, manual on demand from either the remote or the app. Smart memory holds the path the robot has already learned on a given window, so a second clean of the same pane follows a route it has effectively mapped once rather than starting from a blank pattern each time.

Setup runs through the Tuya app over Bluetooth, the robot appearing as a device once paired, with the same four modes and spray settings available on screen as on the physical remote. Noise stays at 65dB or under, the brushless motor holding that figure

Is it worth it

The laser sensor earns its price on difficult glass only

A laser sensor measures the edge of a window directly rather than estimating it from reflected light, and that precision matters most on worn frames, irregular corners, or large frameless panels. On a straightforward framed window, the Pro reaches the same cleaning result for £50 less.

Trying it out

Thirty days to decide, not just to unbox it

Every Eclene robot comes with a 30-day return window from the French Consumer Code, long enough to actually run it across a few windows before committing. Free UK delivery means trying one costs nothing extra beyond the price of the robot itself, and a UK-based team answers by email within 24 to 48 hours if anything about the setup isn't clear.

Questions about the Eclene Max

Do I actually need the laser sensor, or is the Pro enough?

The laser sensor earns its price on glass with a worn or irregular frame edge, where a standard optical sensor is more likely to misjudge the boundary. On a typical framed or frameless window in good condition, the Pro reaches the same result for less.

Does the Max clean any differently to the Pro?

No, suction, motor and spray are identical between the two. What changes is how precisely the edge of the glass is read before the robot commits to a pass.

Can I control it entirely from my phone?

Yes, the Tuya app pairs over Bluetooth and mirrors every function on the physical remote, mode switching, spray control, start and stop, with voice prompts confirming each change.

What happens during a power cut?

A built-in battery holds suction for up to 40 minutes, the robot stays fixed to the glass with a flashing light and alert rather than continuing to move, giving time to pull it back down using the safety rope.

Is the Max worth it over the Home for a standard framed window?

Not on suction or cleaning result, both handle a standard framed window well. The Max's laser sensor and app control matter more once frameless or irregular glass is involved.
